Mailchimp Integration

Push CRM audiences built from Smart Lists to Mailchimp for targeted email campaigns. Engagement data โ€” opens, clicks, bounces, and unsubscribes โ€” flows back automatically so your sales team always has up-to-date contact activity.

Prerequisites#

  • Mailchimp account (free or paid tier).
  • Verified sender domain in Mailchimp (otherwise campaign deliverability is limited).
  • Coeffection role with integrations:manage permission.

Connecting Mailchimp#

  1. Go to Admin Settings โ†’ Integrations โ†’ Mailchimp.
  2. Click โ€œConnect Mailchimpโ€.
  3. Sign in to Mailchimp via OAuth and grant access to audiences + campaigns.
  4. Select or create a Mailchimp audience to use as the destination for CRM contacts.
  5. Push a Smart List segment to Mailchimp to begin sending targeted campaigns.

What you get#

  • Audience sync from Smart Lists โ€” push Smart List segments to Mailchimp audiences with automatic field mapping. Contacts are added, updated, or removed as Smart List membership changes.
  • Campaign delivery tracking โ€” see which campaigns each contact received, with delivery status visible on the timeline.
  • Open & click tracking โ€” Mailchimp engagement events flow to the contact record via webhook within seconds.
  • Bounce handling โ€” hard bounces flag the contact as invalid email; soft bounces increment a retry counter.
  • Unsubscribe syncโ€” unsubscribes in Mailchimp automatically mark the contact as โ€œdo not emailโ€ in Coeffection.
โ„น
Mailchimp is best for marketing-style campaigns (newsletters, promotions). For 1:1 transactional sales emails, use Gmail or Outlook integration instead โ€” those preserve threading and reply tracking that Mailchimp's broadcast model strips.
